We provide all equipment, fly rods, waders, flies and everything needed to fish included on trips, no additional rental fee. We are proud to offer our clients top of the line equipment from Scott, Hardy, Sage, TFO, Hatch, Abel, Ross, Orvis, G Loomis, Simms, Scientific Anglers, Rio Products and others. Clients are welcome to bring any equipment they like to use appropriate for the style of fishing we are doing.
We provide a cooler with beverages on all float/boat trips and a great lunch made by Kelli, Food Editor for Tail Fly Fishing Magazine, on full day trips. Anglers 17 and older need a Texas Fishing License which can be purchased by clicking the button at the bottom of the page or at most sporting goods and hardware stores. Don’t forget to dress for the weather and we always recommend a hat and sunglasses when fly fishing.
We tailor our trips to meet the needs of each individual client. From knowledge and preparation to equipment and attention to detail, we are confident in our ability to provide the best fly fishing experience in the Texas Hill Country. Whether a beginner’s first time fly fishing or an experienced angler looking for the fish of a lifetime, we will not be outworked. Our goal is to maximize our clients time on the water, help them become better anglers and have fun!
$100 Deposit is required on all trips which goes towards the trip rate. We email an invoice for the deposit and the balance is paid cash, check or Venmo/Zelle at the end of the trip. Gratuity for your guide is not expected but always appreciated and not included in the rate.

Trip prep:
Upon booking, we send time and meeting location for your trip. We touch base again via text day before trip. Let us know if you have any additional questions in the meantime.
Guadalupe River Trout - Bring waders if you have them. If not, we have a full line of sizes for clients to wear free of charge. We typically wear waders on float trips in the cooler months as we get in and out of the raft on occasion. River shoes/sandals (no flip flops) are good on float trips in the Fall and Spring depending on forecast. We always wear waders on wade trips during Trout Season as the water is chilly. We will have top of the line rods rigged ready to go but clients are welcome to bring their own rods. We prefer a 5wt but 4wt or 6wt are OK too, all floating lines. We will have flies, leader, tippet and everything needed to fish. We provide lunch on full day trips. Trout trips are catch and release only. Adults 17 and older need TX fishing licenses.
Canyon Lake - We fish out of a 20 foot center console with 150hp outboard and do not get in the water. Dress for the weather. We keep top of the line rods rigged ready to go in the boat for the various situations we encounter. We use somewhat specialized set ups on 7-9wt rods. Not always as straightforward as bringing your favorite 8wt with a floating line. If you wish to bring equipment, we can discuss before trip to make sure it’s appropriate for the style of fishing we will be doing. We also use light tackle spinning rods on Canyon Lake trips and have both techniques rigged ready to go in the boat. We provide all rods, flies, lures and everything needed to fish. We promote catch and release but clients are welcome to keep some Striped and White Bass for the table. Adults 17 and older need TX fishing licenses.
Upper Guadalupe/San Marcos Bass - On warmwater trips waders are not needed. River shoes/sandals (no flip flops) are great. We will have top of the line rods rigged ready to go but clients are welcome to bring their own rods. We prefer 5-7wt fly rods with floating lines. We will have flies, leader, tippet and everything needed to fish. Trips are catch and release only. Adults 17 and older need TX fishing licenses.
